We're thrilled to announce that our design for the Quality HealthCare Flagship Clinic has won Silver at the prestigious MUSE Design Awards in the Interior Design - Healthcare category. This international recognition celebrates our approach to creating healthcare environments that honour legacy while embracing innovation.

Honouring 200 Years of Care Through Design

Located in the prestigious Prince's Building, this 10,000 sq ft flagship clinic honours Quality HealthCare's 200-year legacy of care in Hong Kong. Our design philosophy centres on a powerful metaphor: a "river of care." Just as rivers connect communities and sustain life, Quality HealthCare's network spans Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories—reaching every corner of the territory through continuity, compassion, and renewal. This inspired us to create spaces where patients' journeys feel intuitive and restorative rather than clinical and complex.

Where the Journey Begins: Reception Design

The journey begins at a striking reception where the river concept comes to life. A sculptural, curved counter clad in deep blue gradient panels emerges from pristine white terrazzo flooring that flows throughout the clinic like a continuous "riverbed."

Overhead, a shimmering, reflective aluminum ceiling mimics moving water while discreetly concealing complex mechanical systems. The backdrop features a bespoke LED wall fixture displaying Hong Kong's skyline from both sides of Victoria Harbour—a symbol of Quality HealthCare's expansive reach in connecting communities.

Intuitive Navigation Through Specialised Zones

From this central source, patients navigate through a sophisticated colour-coded way finding system derived from the client's branding. Four clinical zones flow naturally into one another:

• Specialty Services (purple): Curved seating with integrated planters creates semi-private retreats

• General Practice (navy): Maintains design continuity while offering practical amenities

• Colonoscopy (green): Bold cabinetry transforms clinical utility spaces into welcoming environments

• Dental & Wellness (teal): Features specialised reception and equipment positioning

Gradient glass panels at consultation room entrances gently introduce each zone's hue, humanising clinical spaces without creating harsh divisions. This guides patients with clarity and warmth, ensuring their journey feels like a continuous, tranquil flow.

Wellness by Design

Wellness is embedded into the clinic's very fabric through sophisticated sustainability and biophilic design. The environment actively promotes health through:

• High-performance air purifying systems

• Low-VOC finishes and recyclable materials

• Zoned air-conditioning with occupancy-sensor LED lighting

• Integrated greenery, natural textures, and calming aromatherapy

Waiting areas transform into serene lounges where live plants improve air quality while providing natural focal points.

A Complete Sensory Experience

Every design choice considers the full sensory experience. Natural lighting creates organised, calming spaces while sound design incorporates calming elements and reduces noise. Aromatherapy and ventilation address smell, while comfortable, ergonomic furniture provides pleasant touch experiences. Smart technology integration—including digital displays and way finding systems—is seamlessly woven into the design rather than feeling like clinical additions.
