Happiness is homemade. And for Maryknoll, the design focus was mimicking the home environment while allowing the students to practice cooking independently. We started with timber—the main color to provide a warm and calm atmosphere for the students to become inspired and unlock creativity. To breathe life and vibrancy into the space, we accented the room with green curves and a diversity of gray shades. The teaching platform amongst wooden furniture creates a focal point for optimal student attention. Surrounding natural lighting evokes a sense of hygiene and tidiness. The space accommodates up to 40 students per class with each cooking station housing 2-3 students. Each working station is equipped with a gas stove, induction hob and oven allowing the students independence to start from cooking!
