Displaying elements in a new way that respects the past is the theme as we meticulously approached restoration of this Grade II Listed building rather than demolishing, for example, the 100 year green terrazzo flooring.
The extensive design thinking workshop with the international secondary school at Ho Man Tin accounted for the historical value and significance requiring preservation. Our aim was to accentuate the unique architecture of the beams along with a focal point in the ceiling center surrounded by molding to resemble the colonial architecture and design. The celebration of the school’s success, dating back to the 19th century, is displayed on the heritage wall in a unique way to elevate the look from “dated” to “refreshed”.
